Googling Amitabh...
Soon Google became my new toy. I used to type in names of random people in my free time to see if I got any results.
One day, not even expecting anything out of it, I typed my own name to see what comes out of it. I was probably wanting to see if there was anyone else in the world with the same name as mine (The full name - the spelling of it isn't very common). And bang, I, me, my name, popped up. It was me.
I assure you I felt nothing short of ecstacy, for I thought I am listed. I exist and am there for people to know of my existence. I called up everyone I knew, told them that I am on the net. The search for my name gets results!!!
That was one day, and today is one day. I appear on Google, or Hotbot, or Lycos all the time. The pages only keep increasing. But still the enthusiasm for searching for my name hasn't still died down.
I still feel elated when I see a new result for my name - bloggers who are appreciating or cursing my work, etc etc...
I have searched for innumerable people on Google... random people. For example, my ex-girlfriends, my ex-bosses, my ex-colleagues, people I hate, people I love...
Only today, while walking to work I was wondering, I have never googled Amitabh Bachchan, or Shahrukh Khan, or Salman Khan for that matter.
Why should I? After all, you really don't have to google them. They're stars. You know everything about them.
But I did. It's amazing how many people must be employed to work on sites on Amitabh Bachchan, from his new movies, to his likes, dislikes, favourite food, history... everything.
Likewise for Shahrukh Khan. The results he gets are at least a zillion!
What do I get? 6 humble pages, most of which are about the insane MMS Sex Scandal story I broke and was blown out of proportion, unless I click on "view ommitted results" at the end of the 6th page, which then shows about 189 results under my name.
But whatever... Just wondering if Amitabh ever googled himself.
Would he?
