Breaking News?

1. (For Qatar residents) Fire in Doha! In West Bay area, the (under construction) almost-completed twin towers... one of the pair, completely blazed. No casualties. Even those working on the 22nd floor were succesfully evacuated.
Three Cheers for Fire Dept.
Kick on the balls to contractors and building creators who are trying to turn Qatar into Dubai so fast that they don't care about safety regulations for contrustion workers at all.
*Clenches teeth and kicks balls*
Now a BLOG EXCLUSIVE!
First of all, Qatar as a country comes very very close when you talk of the term 'crime-free'. There are no rapes, at least reported, or murders, or thefts. I've mentioned before in one of my posts that people here leave their cars on so the ac still keeps working to keep the car cool from inside, go home, take a nap (petrol is dirt cheap here), come back and drive away in their cool cars. No one steals them.
Now, if some sources and some serious email exchanges have to be believed, a very very scary thing happened a couple of days ago, which if reported in the papers, which if true at all and not a hoax (unfortunately, no one will confirm it, not even the cops), will have the entire country's parents shivering with fear.
One of the biggest shopping malls in the entire Gulf region (name withheld), a supermarket (name withheld) inside the mall, a mother and her ten-year-old daughter.
Mother's shopping holding daughter's hand. She leaves her hand for just about a few seconds to pick up something from the shelf. Turns around. The daughter's missing.
She raises a huge cry, an alarm. Supermarket management, immediately order all doors of the mall to be shut. SHUT DOORS!
Security arrives from everywhere. Desperately searching for the missing ten-year-old girl.
Just 10 minutes later, the kid is found in the toilet, drugged... half BALD!
Kept beside the girl: A razor, a different pair of clothes and a WIG!
!!!!
All this, just in a matter of ten minutes!
It was a failed kidnapping attempt - drug the girl, shave her head, make her wear different clothes and a new wig and lead her out of the well secured mall.
Ten minutes, people.
This of course, is all allegedly.
The cops won't confirm. Supermarket won't confirm. And newspapers dare not touch this matter with a barged pole.
But a mail with details of the entire incident is doing the rounds on Qatar computers.
I don't know. But it doesn't seem like a hoax. Not to me.
Parents in Qatar, beware!

I somehow dont think such news can be a hoax... red tape is more powerful than we think, cover up is entirely possible!

Scary... whether in Qatar or anywhere else... crime is becoming more and more organised. Scary!!

Crime free you say.. almost.. still music to my ears living in one of the countries with highest crime rate.. A jounalist's paradise .. but of course the price you pay here is your sanity, not forgetting your humanity..but I suppose news to a certain community is like ordinary life to others. Should move to Qatar.. very appealing right now esp after reading our papers.

Scary thought that.

It's so frightening to hear of something like this from a third person perspective I wonder what it would be like if it happens to me?

Wonder what one feels like then?

Wondering if bringing up a child is as easy as it sounded a few years back. Shameless deed if true...n we should all feel sorry to be a part of this dirty world.
