Qatar in pics - II

This is where I stay. I pay 800 Riyals for a room like this, and trust me, it's a steal. You gotta be really lucky to get a place like this in Qatar for 800 bucks, at least now with the rent boom coz of the Asian Games coming up in 2006.
The view from the terrace of my building in Najma. Stand up there and you can literally get the feel of how many people land in Qatar all the time hoping for better and easy money. There's a life for all here, from the cheapest to the most expensive.
This is one lifestyle. No, this isn't the house of a male counterpart of my girlfriend who has 52 shoes. This is a four-bedroom apartment shared by about 10 people. Most people here stay like this. Works out much cheaper, they can save more.
Qatar, unbelievably has one of the highest accident rates in the world. Everyone's sick of accidents. It's ludicrous, especially when you see the size of this teeny weeny country. People drive like maniacs, and here's one example. The cops exhibited a speed bike and a crushed car at the City Centre Mall.
Souq Al Jaber. Souq in Arabic means Market. I don't know why I clicked this one actually. Just wanted to give you a feel of Qatar. Didn't come out really right. But it's Qatar, nonetheless.
Me and my infamous black Adidas bag at the City Centre Mall, the biggest mall in the Middle East, they say. Could very well be. About my bag, well, it's banned in bars, people in office wonder why I carry it, passersby look at me as if I am taking out a bomb when I'm just looking for my camera, and friends ask me, why is it so big. Well, big or small, it's my skin.
At Clint's house. Arun, me, Clint, and Yagi. Not to miss out the dog, that's Snoopy. Guess even Snoopy got bored of Qatar so one day came and parked himself outside Clint's house and was taken in.
Clint's new Cherokee jeep. Sitting inside, Arun.
Crabbing at Wakra.

Conman,

Nice pics. - you look KIND on them. Given the harsh tone you sometimes use in the comments I'm a bit surprised to note that.

And yes, I'm sorry for being anonymous.

Shukran Jazeelan Anonymous. But the point it, WHY do you choose to stay anonymous?

Thank you Poison: At least one person (except LS), who chose to comment on a pic other than the ones I figured in!

Six reasons for remaining anonymous
1) don't have a blog - and not interested in setting one up
2) my nationality doesn't matter
3) my ethnicity doesn't matter
4) my sex doesn't matter
5) my age doesn't matter
6) my profession doesn't matter
7) you don't know me and i'm not sure that i want you to know more about me or that i wish to know more about you than what you make available on your blog.

That said, I do appreciate your blog. It gives me an impression of both middle-class India and what it may be like to be a young Indian in the Gulf.
