But life... it must go on

And so, we - John, Sarhan and I - decided to go camping overnight to Dukhan, known popularly as Qatar's oil land, 84 kilmoeters across the country westwards, bang opposite Doha, on the map. It's the heart of the country’s onshore oil and gas industry.
There's one more thing it's known for - some of Qatar's best, yet, untapped beaches.

On the way... to Dukhan. Just in case you're wondering what car we're in...

A Pontiac TransAm. Ha!

Sarhan and I... one for the road! Check this out man. Some wierd sandformations on the way. At the Simpsons' residence. Ian Simpson was the reason we decided to explore Dukhan. Ian, a Qatar petroleum staffer, met me and John at the Ramada Bar the previous weekend and said we should check Dukhan out. He promised to show us around, and that was it. He and his wife Marian were super hospitable to us. Eeehaaaa to them.

The Dukhan Golf Course. Grassless. But 18-holes. I thought it was awesome. The idea - Balls to the desert, we're gonna play golf mate.

The Dukhan Sailing Club... super chilled out atmposphere. Ian has a personal yacht too. Sigh! Sarhan... a master at barbequing. John a master at making conversation. Me a master at drinking and eating. We make a damn decent threesome. Don't miss our tent there on the right. Aaah... what the heck. I was trying to hide this picture, thanks to no work-outs... loadsa beer and that stupid ugly paunch. But try focussing on the tent. This is the only pic I have with a clear view of our cool awesome tent. Focus on that please.

Rise and shine. It's time...
...To head back to civilization.

For the time being I will camp on your pages and annoy the boss with the song.

Annkay: When it's so empty... who can you be afraid of? Yourself?
Or do you assume the car's gonna suddenly go berserk, start shifting gears on its own and speed over your ass?
It's empty for cryin out loud.

Cat: err/...Somein about the post...
How does that sound as an idea?
Story appears tomorrow. The music one.
Dukhan story... appears sometime next week.

Xeb: I hate trekking. I just don't see a point in walking miles and miles like idiots.
It's a different matter if you're mountain climbing and there's some risk involved.
