What a night!

The Scorpions rock man. Really. I love Klaus Meine's voice. Like bigtime.
And I so caught Nicole Saba, a hot blonde Lebanese singer, who opened with a couple of Arabic tracks before the Scorpions took the stage, lip-synching.
Man I always kinda guess most singers just lip-synched, but had never really witnessed it you know. It was always justa guess. maybe, maybe not. Most likely, sure.
But this one man... it was pretty putting off. The perks of being back stage... you can so clearly make out that the mike's off.
So what... these stars get paid for just being on stage with their songs anyway playing on the system and they just move their lips to it.
Sure, it's not everybody's cup of tea to perform (read: sing) live. But still man, a performer should have the guts to perform, not just move their lips and prance around on stage, and actually trying to fool the audience into believing they're really singing.
Anyway...
The Scorpions man... they so rock.
And I was sooooo sloshed... so wasted.
Its not my fault man. The bars - there were four of them all around the venue - opend at 6, and I was there at 6 for the show to begin at 9pm, thanks to some organisers-of-the-event friends (read: Clinton Cardozo). So I opened my tap at six itself... and by the time the show started, I was blasted.
This was certainly the smallest audience Scorpions would have ever performed in front of. Just about 5000 I think.
It was like a dream come true man. You never expect a live concert with the likes of the Scorpions performing without all that chaos, the pushing and pulling, the hassles of getting in, the suffocation.
But this was different. There were such few people that the organisers actually let the 100 riyal ticket holders jump the fence to come into the 500 riyals area. And thank God for that, actually. At least the place looked fuller.
And man, it wasn't as if these people didn't know shit about the Scorpions. They were screaming and shouting madly after every song. They were singing along and stuff. They were bigtime rock fans man.
And at six, Clint and I were the only ones there... and right in front of us were the Scorpions doing their sound check, playing their songs, and there I am drinking beer.
Can you beat that. The Scorpions live, and me there in an absolutely empty sandy ground. It was insane.
An absolutely fantastic night. It lasted for about three hours.
And trust me, when these men play Winds of Change standing there right in front of you, you just can't help but scream your lungs out.
Why do you scream so bad? You don't know. It's a scream that says, Fuck, i don't believe this.
Maybe it was the alcohol, I don't know, but I actually thought I was literally going weak in my knees to drop.
Why did women faint in Michael Jackson concerts?
I always used to think it was all bloody fake. But I guess I kinda know now why.
There was alcohol flowing, there was tonnes of space around, I had a pass to be in any area of the venue I wanted to be, and there were the Scorpions LIVE.
Fan-bloody-tastic.
I am now such a big fan of the Scorpions, I could cry.
Qatar's beautiful.
